Welcome to Boutique 1847

Located in the heart of Barcelona’s historic Ciutat Vella district, Boutique 1847 offers travelers an authentic, intimate experience unlike the conventional chain hotels. Nestled on Carrer d'Avinyo, this charming boutique hotel captures the essence of the old medieval center, placing guests within steps of vibrant La Rambla street-food stalls, artisan leather boutiques, and traditional Catalan eateries.

With a solid rating of 3.8, Boutique 1847 strikes a balance between simplicity and comfort. Guests appreciate the airy, clean rooms that prioritize quality rest; many highlight the comfort of the beds as a standout feature. While the hotel does not offer an elevator, on-site restaurant, or fitness facilities, it makes up for these absences by providing complimentary Wi-Fi and free parking—amenities that support modern travelers’ connectivity and convenience without overwhelming the experience.

Notably, the hotel’s lack of certain typical room features such as refrigerators or closets does not detract from its unique appeal. Rather, it emphasizes Boutique 1847’s commitment to preserving the authentic, minimalist charm of a small, historic building. The narrow stairways, while challenging for some, add character and a genuine sense of place—perfect for those who value atmosphere over luxury.

Feedback from visitors like Lana Gonzales and Vicky Jackson reflects genuine satisfaction. Lana cherishes the serene post-holiday quiet and the stunning location, acknowledging the hotel's quaint limitations without complaint. Vicky overcame her initial hesitation, ultimately praising the attentive staff and the inviting ambiance, noting the stairs as part of the building’s old-world charm rather than a drawback.

In essence, Boutique 1847 is an ideal choice for travelers seeking an authentic Barcelona experience in a thoughtfully preserved setting. It fosters a connection to the city’s historical pulse while offering the essentials for a comfortable stay. For those wanting to immerse themselves in local culture without the distractions of commercialized resorts, Boutique 1847 provides a memorable base for exploration and relaxation alike.

I loved this place. I went after Christmas and so there wasn't much noise. The location was stunning. No there isn't an elevator. That didn't bother me as I don't travel with a lot of luggage. Someone said there wasn't a fridge or closets. That's true but then I've never had either in a room at a small place such as this. That person needs a bigger chain hotel. Try the Marriott. There was a clothing rack for hanging clothes. I wasn't thrilled to visit Barcelona as there are many other wonderful cities in Spain but I booked this place and it was definitely one of the highlights of my trip.

I booked this place and then instantly regretted it. Some of the reviews I'd read were awful. But in my opinion, those reviews were wrong. This hostel is brilliant. The staff are great, the rooms are clean and tidy and airy. The bed... Oh my god, the bed - SO comfortable!!! The stairs are a bit of a challenge, especially after a few cocktails but I think that's part of the building charm. The location was perfect, right in the Gothic quarter, within walking distance of just about everything. If you don't like stairs, or comfortable beds than don't stay here. But if you can put up with the (56) steps then it's worth a stay. Will be coming back here.
